Arpio Now Supports Disaster Recovery for Amazon DynamoDB

Arpio is pleased to announce that it now supports disaster recovery for Amazon DynamoDB. The addition of DynamoDB extends Arpio’s already industry-leading coverage for workloads built on AWS.

Arpio’s support for DynamoDB leverages the AWS Backup service to deliver cross-region, cross-account backup and replication capability out of the box.  However, Arpio takes AWS’ native capability one step further to deliver incremental data transfer and backup capabilities that are not included in AWS Backup. This means that you can achieve maximal protection for your DynamoDB instances, at minimized costs.

During a recovery, Arpio will eliminate manual configuration steps by restoring your DynamoDB tables with the exact naming and configuration of that in your production environment.  Once failed over, your workloads will resume interacting with DynamoDB right where they left off, without any need for application-level reconfiguration. Arpio also supports real-time recovery point objectives for DynamoDB, so that you can failover your application without losing valuable data.

When your outage has passed, you can also use Arpio to automatically failback your DynamoDB instance to your production environment – no manual failback efforts necessary.

“By delivering such robust support for DynamoDB failover and failback, we have taken another important step towards providing complete protection for our customers’ complex and heterogeneous cloud environments,” says Doug Neumann, CEO and Cofounder of Arpio. “Whether you are running Dynamo with virtualized, containerized, or serverless workloads, Arpio’s got you covered.”

DynamoDB support is available immediately to all customers. Contact us today to speak to a specialist about how Arpio can provide your AWS-hosted applications with comprehensive disaster recovery support, or schedule a demo to see it in action.
