Protect Your Amazon SQS Message Queues from Downtime with Arpio's Disaster Recovery Solution

Arpio is the industry’s leading DR solution for workloads built on AWS. It is the only solution that protects your entire environment from catastrophic downtime. This coverage includes workloads using Amazon’s Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS).

When using Arpio to protect your AWS application, your SQS queues will automatically be replicated across regions and across accounts, and connected to the rest of your replicated infrastructure, ensuring that your entire workload can be recovered automatically in minutes in the event of a disaster.

The Only Tool That Natively Understands Amazon Web Services Workloads

While traditional backup solutions focus on your data, Arpio was designed to protect your entire environment from catastrophic downtime. Once connected to your environment, Arpio continuously captures the latest data, configuration settings, and complex dependencies of your SQS-based workload. Whether you are using SQS in a traditional virtual machine-based workload, a containerized environment, or a serverless architecture, Arpio has got you covered.

Restore Your Environment in Minutes and Minimize Downtime During an Outage

Arpio makes recovering from a disaster easy, even if your source environment is unavailable. Arpio is a pilot-light disaster recovery solution, which means your recovery environment will always be staged and ready to go. In the case of a failure, just clicking a button in the Arpio console will launch the rest of your recovery environment in minutes.

Arpio also automates cumbersome manual recovery operations. In the case of SQS, Arpio will back up the configuration of queues in your source environment and recreate them with the same name in your recovery environment, ensuring that all of the correct settings are replicated as part of the recovery. If you are using SNS in conjunction with SQS, Arpio can also recreate subscriptions to SNS topics that enable those topics to deliver to a specific SQS queue, as well as connect topics and queues into other replicated infrastructure such as auto-scaling groups, where they are leveraged for life cycle management and scaling notifications

How to Protect Your AWS Simple Queue Service Queues in just 3 steps

Curious about how to get started protecting your SQS Message Queues? Set up is easy:

1. Connect Arpio to your primary and recovery environments

Arpio connects securely to your primary and recovery environments in accordance with AWS best practices for working with 3rd parties. When setting up an application, Arpio will generate CloudFormation templates for you to install in your environment to set up an IAM role-based trust relationship.

2. Define Your Recovery Point Objective

Arpio can support a recovery point of mere seconds up to 24 hours, depending on your business needs. Tell Arpio what your recovery point objective is for this application, and our software will do the rest.

3. Select the Resources for Arpio to Replicate

Once connected, Arpio will automatically discover all of the resources in your environment and their dependencies. Just check the boxes by the SQS Services you care about, as well as the other services that support the workload, like the load balancer and EC2 instance, and Arpio will discover the rest.

Once you hit save, Arpio will begin its first back up and start to replicate resources to your recovery environment right away. That’s all you need to do to get set up!
